How to complete a UK invoice template
Start with the parties and dates
Identify your business and the customer, then add a unique sequential invoice number, invoice date and supply date. Limited companies should use their full registered name; sole traders should include their own name as well as any trading name.
Describe what you supplied
Use a separate line for each product or service. A useful description, quantity and rate make the charge easy for the customer to approve and help both parties keep understandable records.
State how and when to pay
Give the total amount due, a payment deadline, bank details and a reference the customer can quote. Clear instructions reduce avoidable payment queries.
